Save Bexleyheath Police Station

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is making £260 million of cuts to the Metropolitan Police Service, axing 1,700 police officers and staff, removing officers from schools, and closing front counter services.

Under these plans, Bexleyheath's Police Station will be closed overnight to victims of crime and the public. From December 2025, the front counter will only be open between 10 am and 10 pm on Monday to Friday and between 9 am and 7 pm on the weekend.

Bexleyheath Police Station's overnight front counter offers a safe harbour to victims of crime, women and girls, and vulnerable residents. It is the only place at night that Bexley residents can report a crime locally. Closing the front counter is a huge mistake, especially considering Bexleyheath's busy nightlife.

That's why I've launched a petition with the Conservative council candidates for Bexleyheath — Cllr Rags Sandhu, Cllr Bola Carew, and Hannah Gillespie — to save Bexleyheath Police Station. If you oppose Labour's plan to reduce its opening hours, please sign the petition today and share it with family and friends.
