Louie French MP has launched a new speed awareness campaign with local councillors and schoolchildren to improve road safety in Bexley.
Artwork created by pupils from Old Bexley Primary School has been transformed into banners urging drivers to ‘slow down, drive safely’. More than 500 children entered the competition, and the five winning designs by Aadya, Georgia, Larsen, Nora and Sophine will be displayed on main roads around Bexley Village and North Cray.
Their artwork features messages such as ‘slow down for a safer town’, ‘drive safely’ and ‘slow and steady wins the race’. Louie is inviting other schools across Old Bexley, Sidcup and Welling to participate in the road safety campaign.
Old Bexley and Sidcup MP Louie French said: “Thank you to Aadya, Georgia, Larsen, Nora and Sophie for their eye-catching artwork. We hope this campaign will make drivers think twice before speeding while we continue to work with our local police team and Bexley Council to improve road safety locally. If your school would like to participate, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
