Barclays wants to close its cash machine outside the Nisa Local (30-32 Bexley High Street) on 11 December 2026. This is the only free-to-use cash machine left on Bexley High Street.
Thanks to legislation introduced by the previous Conservative government, a cash access assessment is triggered whenever a bank branch or free cash machine closes.
Sadly, LINK (the UK’s cash machine network) believes there are sufficient cash access services in the area (because of the pay-to-use machine and post office facilities), and that the loss of the Barclays cash machine will not significantly impact the local area.
Louie French MP, Cllr Kurtis Christoforides and Cllr Cameron Smith are appealing this decision to save Bexley Village’s cash machine. But we need your help to provide evidence why the machine is needed.
You can help save cash in Bexley Village by completing this short survey by Tuesday 6th October.
