Old Bexley and Sidcup MP Louie French welcomed the opening of the Sidcup Banking Hub today. It will temporarily be housed in the parish rooms and offices at St John's Church.
The new banking service was secured thanks to a local campaign led by Louie French MP, with residents, local businesses, and councillors. It will ensure people and businesses can access face-to-face banking services in Sidcup. The hub is open Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, with residents and businesses can make deposits, withdraw cash, access change-giving services, and speak to a community banker.
Mr French is working with Cash Access UK to find a permanent home for the hub on the high street.
There is a community drop-in event at St John's Church on 19 March between 10 am and 1 pm for people to learn more about the Sidcup Banking Hub.
Louie French MP (Old Bexley and Sidcup) said: "I'm thrilled that the Sidcup Banking Hub is opening today in its temporary home. After the closure of many local bank branches, this is welcome news. We've worked so hard to secure this new face-to-face banking service locally. Thank you to the residents, businesses, and councillors who supported our bid."
